Arsenal and German national team star, Mesut Ozil, has been dragged into a public row after allegedly cheating on his girlfriend, Mandy Capristo, with the partner of an ex-Bayern Munich player.

Christian Lell, 30, who also played for Hertha Berlin, made the sensational claims in German newspaper ‘Bild’ this week.

He said that 26-year-old Ozil “exploited his fame” to lure his former girlfriend, Melanie Rickinger back into the relationship this year.

Lell shockingly labelled his ex a ‘snake’ and added that she had exchanged intimate messages on popular messaging service, Whatsapp, with the Arsenal star.

"Mesut exploited his fame, and muscled in on our relationship. That isn’t OK," Lell told the popular newspaper.

He added that he was ‘positively sure’ that Ozil was cheating on his current girlfriend, German singer, Mandy Capristo, seen in the photo below with him in London.

Ozil, who joined Arsenal on a £42 ($85) million deal last summer, has refused to comment on the situation.

"We are not commenting on this. We will keep an eye on the situation, and take legal action if necessary," said his agent Roland Eitel.

Meanwhile, Lell’s ex-girlfriend Rickinger, a German model has claimed her former boyfriend is ‘crazy’.

Melanie, who is also a hair and make-up artist, did not deny the accusations of an affair with Ozil. However, she insisted that Lell had accessed her messages without her permission.

"I deleted everything on my phone. He must have gone on himself and backed everything up,’ she said. ‘He’s completely crazy."

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge uploaded an insightful picture of his late night exploits this week.

Fortunately, manager Brendan Rodgers had nothing to worry about as the 25-year-old hit popular supermarket chain Sainsbury instead to restock his fridge.

Sturridge, who is recovering from a thigh injury, picked out some healthy foods including Pineapple, cucumber, spinach, olive oil and Corn Flakes.

The striker posted a picture on Instagram of him at the checkout with the message: “Late night shop… What’s everyone’s fave food?”

Sturridge is on the road to recovery having been out of action since the beginning of September, when he participated in England’s Euro 2016 qualifiers.
